We started watching Star Wars franchise, and this evening I noticed two things. First, the episode I is so much better than every other episode I’ve seen before or after. The old films are joke. They are classics, but they’re of a very low quality, if measured by today’s standards. This one is from 1999 and it’s ages better than the newest ones that I’ve seen.
Second, there is a weird flex of understanding what an invasion is.
The starting point of the episode is that the planet Naboo is being invaded. It’s not a documentary, but a children’s film, yet the invasion part is so vivid to me. When I was watching this episode as a kid, surely the invasion concept was foreign to me. Yet, I’m sure if I had no the expertise of my country being invaded, I won’t get this concept that well. It would be someone akin ‘well, yeah, that’s bad’, not something I can imagine in great details.
